History
The town of Bedrock was established in 1883. The Bedrock post office opened on November 8, 1883. The town's general store and post office were built on solid rock, hence the name.
The general store, built in 1882 and featured in the 1991 film Thelma & Louise, was closed in 2011 due to health concerns of the owner, and later sold. As of 2016, the store was being prepared to reopen under new management.
