Severe Cyclonic Storm Nisarga is a currently active tropical cyclone going towards the coastline of the Indian state of Maharashtra.
Nisarga was expected to hit the western coastline of India. On 2 June 2020, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) revisited Nisarga as severe cyclonic storm from cyclonic storm. It had its landfall in the coastal town of Alibag in Maharashtra on 3 June 2020.
It is the first super cyclonic storm to happen in the Bay of Bengal in the 21st century. Nisarga is the first severe cyclonic storm since 1891 to impact Mumbai.
