Deindustrialization facts for kids
Deindustrialization or deindustrialisation is a process that happens in countries when machines are being removed or reduced from how work is done. This can cause social and economic change. It is the opposite of industrialization.
During the deindustrialisation of a country, many people leave factory jobs to do other jobs that require little or no machines.

The Bethlehem Steel plant in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania was one of the world's leading steel manufacturers for most of the 20th century. In 1982, it discontinued most of its operations, declared bankruptcy in 2001, and was dissolved in 2003.
