Grevillea cravenii facts for kids

Grevillea cravenii is a shrub of the genus Grevillea native to a small area along the north west coast of the Kimberley region of Western Australia.

The low spreading multi-stemmed shrub typically grows to a height of 0.15 to 0.5 metres (0.5 to 1.6 ft) and has non-glaucous branchlets. It has simple flat, oblong to elliptic leaves that are 50 to 90 millimetres (2.0 to 3.5 in) long and 20 to 25 mm (0.8 to 1.0 in) wide. The inflorescence is terminal raceme with irregular red and purple flowers that appear between December and March.

The plant is able to regenerate from seed, lignotuber and rhizomes.

Grevillea cravenii is found amongst medium size trees or throughout grassland. It grows in sand or loam on level ground and along ridges. It occupies a small area in the Mitchell IBRA subregion in the Shire of Wyndham-East Kimberley. Most of the population is found in the Princess May Range and Prince Regent National Park.
