Hechsher facts for kids
A hechsher ( Hebrew: הֶכְשֵׁר "prior approval"; plural: hechsherim) is a symbol placed on food bought at a grocery store that is considered kosher by a professional kosher checker. It is usually a "U" with a circle around it.
