Hector Albert Cafferata, Jr. (November 4, 1929 – April 12, 2016) was a retired United States Marine. He received the Medal of Honor for his heroic service at the Battle of Chosin Reservoir during the Korean War.

He had been a private during the War. In November 1950, he fought off a regiment of enemy forces by himself. He did this by throwing a live grenade. He badly injured himself by doing this. However, he saved the injured Marines in his unit. He was awarded the Medal of Honor in a ceremony at the White House by President Harry S. Truman on November 24, 1952.

Cafferata was born in New York City. He died on April 12, 2016 in Venice, Florida, aged 86.
