Description: Mechanical details of the 1902 Blake locomtoive (published in 1903). The twin cylinder water-cooled engine drives a bevel gear, and depending on which bevel is engaged either the forward or reverse gearbox is powered. Two gear are provided in each gearbox. Chain drive is then to one axle, and then another chain drives the second axle - all chains are enclosed.
