Description: Accession:2011-10-1 Pennant, Personal CSN, Admiral Buchanan. 56"L x 34" W Pennant has a blue background with 10 white stars in a circle and one at the center The pennant was flown over the CSS Nashville. A note attached to the hoist of the flag reads, " Pennant of the rebel Admiral Buchanon of the ram "Nashville" from the "Confederate " navy yard at Mobile Alabama. Captured in Mobile Bay April 12th 1865, by John R. Carmody of US Ironclad Cincinnati." Collection of Curator Branch Naval History and Heriatge Command.
