Description: The entrance to Carnforth station is through this building which faces the town centre. It used to be on the main platform used by trains to Preston and London but since this has been closed passengers have to pass beneath the tracks to the branch line platforms beyond. The station was designed by William Tite in 1846. It is featured in Simon Jenkins' Britain's 100 Best Railway Stations.
