Description: This sarcophagus is of the second group of Achilles tombs of Attica type from the Roman Imperial Period. The left and short façade an its front façade are allocated to the figures. There is a sphinx in the right short face and opposing Gryphons on its rear long façade. Although the work bears the characteristics of the Late Antonines period, it may be dated to between AD 170 and 190.
