Description: Ambar (Hambar) is a corn crib or small building commonly used for storing and drying maize in the Balkans and the neighboring regions in the Pannonian plain and north of the Danube. Its equivalent is Hórreo, construction common in Northern Spain. This is a photo ambar from 1888 from village Banovci (Vukovar-Syrmia County) during the summer months.
