Description: American Embassy in Warsaw during the siege of the capital of Poland in September 1939 by the German army. An American flag hangs outside the shattered window after the German air raid. One of the few Kodak Kodachrome genuine color photos made by Julien Bryan in Warsaw in 1939. Other color photos showing destroyed German bomber He-111 near the Bartoszewicza Street, Polish soldiers fighting during the Second World War, fleeing civilians and the Old Town. More color photographs, one Kodachrome roll survived in the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington. WARNING:This photo is tiny and washed out. There is also better quality version of this photo where the inscription is clearly visible: "EMBASSY UNITED STATES OF AMERICA". Please add more sharp and larger photo. Thanks.
