Description: Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Michael IX. 1282-1328. AR Basilikon (20mm, 1.68 g, 11h). Constantinople mint. Struck 1304-1320. Christ, nimbate, enthroned and holding Gospels; small dot by each elbow / Andronicus and Michael standing facing, holding patriarchal cross on base between them. DOC V 524 var. (break in legend); Bendall 167.1; SB 2402 var. (no dots by elbow). VF, gray and slightly iridescent toning, an area of flat strike on each side.
