Description: The inscription on the tomb of Sir John Young and Dame Joane, Bristol Cathedral, Bristol, England. The tomb was placed in the cathedral in 1606. Sir John entertained Queen Elizabeth when she visited Bristol in 1574 and was knighted by her. Inscribed: "Here lyeth the bodies of Sir John Young, Knight, and Dame Joane his wyfe. By him she had yssue Roberte, Jane and Margaret. She was fyrste marryed to Sir Gyles Straingewayes, Knight, by whome shee had yssue John, Edward, George, Nicho(las), Ann and Elizabeth. She was daughter to John Wadham, Esquire, and shee departed this mortall lyfe the 14th of June 1603 aged 70 yeeres " Taken by Adrian Pingstone in April 2005 and released to the public domain.
