Description: Bronze statue of Artemis. This robust female type was formerly assigned to some great poetess or Muse and has been linked to sculptural compositions attributed to Silanion. The statue may be identified as Artemis as indicated by the attachment for the quiver seen at the back and the pose of the fingers which held a bow. A classicistic work attributed to the sculptor Euphranor because of its similarity to the Apollo Patroos in the Agora. Mid-4th century B.C. Accession number: 4647. Archaeological Museum of Piraeus. Piraeus, Athens. Text: Museum inscription.
