Description: Brown v. Board of Education National Historic Site Monroe Public School in Topeka, Kansas, was the basis of the Brown v. Board of Education 1954 U.S. Supreme Court decision on segregation schools. The Court ruled that U.S.state laws establishing racial segregation in public schools are unconstitutional, even if the segregated schools are otherwise equal in quality.
