Description: Towards the end of the 19th century, a cathedral was planned for Nottinghamshire, England. It was widely assumed that the church of St Mary the Virgin in Nottingham would be chosen, and the work there of G F Bodley included the making of a throne (or cathedra) for the new bishopric. But in 1884 Southwell Minster, Nottinghamshire, became the cathedral.
