Description: A carte-de-visite of a young Harriet Tubman seated in an interior room. Photographed by Benjamin F. Powelson in 1868-69. Originally owned by Emily Howland, a Quaker schoolteacher who worked in Arlington, VA. Jointly purchased by the National Museum of African American History and Culture and the Library of Congress in 2017.
