Description: The City of Surrey's cenotaph for Canada's war veterans located in Cloverdale, BC, Canada. This granite monument was originally erected on May 21, 1921 in memory of World War One veterans and contains the names of certain local Surrey soldiers who perished in various battles of this war on its sides. It was enlarged and modernised with two newer dedications to the veterans of World War Two and the Korean War and is the site for annual Remembrance day ceremonies in Surrey. Two German WWI guns were originally placed on top of the structure but there were removed and melted down when the Second World War began.
