Description: The Comanche Crossing of the Kansas Pacific Railroad in Strasburg, Colorado. "Comanche Crossing" refers to the railroad's crossing of the Comanche Creek, which goes under the railroad bridge in the foreground. This is the site where the last spike was driven into the first continuous continental railroad on August 15, 1870. The exact spot is not marked. The inset shows a small monument that marks the event. Located in Strasburg's Lyons Park, the marker is on the right side of the railroad tracks near the viaduct in the distance.
