Description: Illustration depicting the coronation of emperor Moctezuma II of Mexico in Codex Duran, a 16th-century manuscript which addresses the prehispanic history of Mexico as told by the indigenous people. This illustration is found in folio 152r of the codex. Moctezuma is depicted in the left as he's receiving his xiuhuitzolli (crown) during the ceremony. The event depicted was held in the year 1502 or 1503.
