Image: Crozier and ring of a Greenlandic bishopf
Description: The photograph shows two objects: a) the top part of a crosier (bishop's staff) made out of walrus tooth and b) a golden episcopal ring. Both objects were found in a bishop's grave in Igaliku, Garðar, Greenland; ruin group Ø47 of the Eastern Settlement. The skeleton from the grave is carbon-dated to AD 1223–1290. It is likely that of Bishop Óláfr who held the diocese of Garðar from 1246 to 80.
