Description: This images shows the QAPF (quartz, Alkali feldspars, plagioclase feldspars, and feldspathoids) diagram used to classify coarse-grained igneous rock. The dioritoid (dioritic-rock) fields are highlighted in yellow, while the true diorite field is highlighted in red. Dioritoids/diorite are further distiguished from gabbroids/gabbro by their predominantly sodic plagioclase (An<50).
