Description: Double Headed Serpent. One of the photographer's favourite objects in the British Museum which must of looked awesome when first made below is the text from the British Museum site about this wonderful artefact. The Double-headed serpent is a mosaic principally of turquoise which has been applied to a carved wooden sculpture of a two headed serpent. The sculpture is currently in Room 25 of the British Museum. This sculpture came from Aztec Mexico and could have been worn of displayed in religous ceremonies. The feathered serpent god Quetzalcoatl was important to their religion.
