Description: Empire Lakes is encompassed by John Topits Park in the northwestern section of Coos Bay. It is a 120 acre natural area of protected coastal dune and forest land. No motor boats are permitted on the lakes. However, there is a launch for canoes, kayaks and other non-motorized boats. There are 5.5 miles of pedestrian and cycling trails. The Empire Lakes are home to a variety of fish (Bass, Blugill, Perch, Catfish), waterfowl and birds.
