The Greek revival style building has cantilevers walls near the roof, ornamental traceries around the arched windows and doorways, a steep flight of stairs leading to the front entrance and two lampposts guarding the stairs. In the center of the building and near the roof is the words "Public Library" embossed. The lawn in front of the building is well manicured. The ground in the foreground appears to be dug up. Rocks and dirt are scattered in rows down the street. A residential house is visible at left. Shrubs and trees are visible at right.
