The red colour shall be the same as in the Norwegian flag. Proportions: White cloth, height 9 parts, width 12 parts. Red border on three sides 1 part. Distance between shield and upper and lower edge is 2 parts." (Profile manual of the city of Bergen) "The city flag is a white cloth charged with the city arms on an elliptical shield, and with a red border on the top, bottom, and fly edges. The flag's height is set to 9 parts, the width to 12 parts, the red border to 1 part, the distance between the shield of arms and both the top and bottom edge 2 parts. The shield is 4.5 parts wide and 5 parts tall, it has a gold bordure, and the three‐towered castle is silver and the mountains are gold on a red field. The flag is designed by architect Finn Berner."
