Description: The former flag of Los Angeles County, California, e.g., the "L.A. County flag", used from October 17, 1967 to September 14, 2004, designed by Kenneth Hahn. It was adopted by the Board of Supervisors on October 17, 1967 and first flown in front of the County Courthouse on March 28, 1968. Consisting of the Los Angeles County seal on a blue background, with the words "COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES" on a green stripe on the bottom, its usage was discontinued in September 2004 due to concerns over religious imagery on the flag. The current flag of Los Angeles County is very similar in appearance, albeit with some slight changes to the seal that is featured prominently on the center of the flag. Former Supervisor Kenneth Hahn designed the flag. It was drawn by Alan Ferber, chief of the County's graphic arts section.
