Here the natives of Oahu made theirfinal stand and fought desperately, resisting with clubsand spears the savage hordes led by Kamehameha. Butthey were defeated at last, and with their king Kaiana,who led them in person, were all driven over the abruptand fatal cliff fifteen hundred feet high, situated at theupper end of the valley.
