Description: Large scale illegal gold mining at Southern Peruvian Amazon, at Madre de Dios, two days ago. Mining happens at Tambopata National Reserve buffer zone, S of Malinowski River, running at image bottom from W to E. Forest appears in black in this stretch made to highlight mining pits, with their yellow exposed soil. Water surface in several colors, from black when clear to blueish/greenish when with suspended sediments and/or eutrophic. Interoceanic Road 30C, runs at image top, along several deforested plots meant for local consumption cattle ranching, in light green and redish brown.
