Description: The Gaziantep zoo or hayvanat bahcesi: Advertised as being the largest zoo in Turkey this zoo covers at least a large amount of space. In slightly hilly and wooded surroundings lots of animals are kept. Compared to the zoo in my home town Amsterdam (The Netherlands) some animals definitely have much more space, some others are much worse off. Birds may suffer from overcrowding, and the way monkeys are kept leaves a lot to be wished for. But there being so much space I think in due course the well-being of animals will be taken better into account.
