Plate VII: The Quarrel of Slop and Susannah While attempting to give medicine to the young Tristram, Dr. Slop and Susannah fall into an argument, and attack each other with the only weapon at hand: the medicine (Book VI, Chapter III). Chapter IV sees them return to the kitchen to prepare another treatment, as the first had not helped the young child.
