Description: Animated map of Indo-European migrations. Sources: J.P. Mallory (1999) "In Search of the Indo-Europeans" D. Anthony (2007) "The Horse, The Wheel and Language" Allentoft et al. (2015) "Population genomics of bronze Age Eurasia", Nature, 11 june 2015, vol. 522 Haak et al. (2015) "Massive migration from the steppe was a source for Indo-European languages in Europe", Nature, 522: 207–211 The animated map gives an overall impression; in the details, many things are not exactly right. The first migration into the Danube Valley, for example, did not proceed from the Yamna culture, which started almost a millennium later. But altogether, the idea is to give an general impression of the migrations. I hope a team of professionals (Reich, Anthony, have you got some students available?) will pick up the idea of using a GIF to communicate an overview of the IE-migrations, and create a really good GIF of it.
