Description: The 1944 tercentenary of the death of Mícheál Ó Cléirigh was marked by commemorative Irish postage stamps designed by Richard J. King showing Ó Cléirigh writing the word Annála 'Annals' (i.e. the Annals of the Four Masters, which he edited) under the Annals' famous motto Do ċum glóire Dé ⁊ onóra na hÉireann "for the glory of God and the honour of Ireland". The 1⁄2d and 1s denomination stamps became definitive issues until 1968.[1]
