On October 25, 1951, Japan Airlines started operating the "Mokusei" (Martin 2-0-2) between Tokyo (Haneda Airport) and Osaka (Itami Airport). On 9 April 1952, the Mokusei (registered N93043) crashed into Mount Mihara with 37 fatalities on Izu Ōshima, Japan.
