Even the actor or actress who signs a contractwith a manager to take part in any productionor attraction must satisfy him or herself that theparty they sign with has the right to produce thedramatic or musical compositions which they areengaged to interpret. There is also a serious penalty attached on be-half of the person who prints upon any composi-tion the indication that the same has been copy-righted, unless such copyright has been entirelygranted.
