Image: Kilgore Bridge 1
Description: Kilgore Bridge in Buffalo County, Nebraska. The bridge crosses the north channel of the Platte River beside Nebraska Highway 10. The picture was taken facing northwest (upstream). The Pratt pony truss bridge was built in 1915 by the Nebraska Department of Roads. Highway 10 now crosses the river on a concrete bridge just upstream (visible in the picture). Until 2009, the Kilgore Bridge carried local traffic to a frontage road beside Interstate 80 north of the river; however, it is now closed to motor traffic. The bridge is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
