NOTES The Klallam peoples (also spelled Clallam or S'Klallam) occupied the northern and eastern coasts of Washington's Olympic Peninsula, from near Neah Bay to the Hood Canal. Nearly 444,000 acres of Klallam land were ceded to the United States in the 1855 Treaty of Point No Point. Groups of Klallam people continue to live in the Port Gamble, Jamestown, and Elwha areas.
