Description: Edwardian Sporting Lanchester 40 HP circa 1914, sole survivor of a limited number made. Found dismantled in a remote part of South Australia in the 1970's. Engine & gearbox was set up to drive a sawbench. As located was mechaniclally complete apart from the gearbox which was smashed up for the alloy casing by a scrap dealer. Returned to the UK about 15 years ago & I understand that the restorer went to some considerable lengths to reproduce the gearbox accurately.
