Description: Picture of Linden Grove located at 1100 Grove Road in Castle Shannon, Pennsylvania, on April 11, 2010. The sign says, "The Linden Grove - Since 1872 - Fun Place To Meet & Eat". This site was once listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP), but was delisted on January 20, 2000. I figure the reason it was removed from the NRHP is because the structure that was originally there was demolished. The current building there is a more recent construction called "The Linden Grove Nightclub". The original "Linden Grove was built as an attraction to German picnickers, as were several other groves patronized by various ethnic groups.
