Description: A linear induction or "shaking" flashlight, powered by muscle power so it doesn't require batteries. It contains a linear electric generator which generates electric current when the flashlight is shaken lengthwise. The current charges a batterylike "ultracapacitor", which provides energy to power the LED lamp bulb. The linear generator consists of a coil of wire (visible in center of tube) and a cylindrical neodymium magnet (to right of coil) which slides in a tube through the center of the coil when the flashlight is shaken. Its magnetic field induces current in the coil by electromagnetic induction when it slides through. 10 seconds of shaking provides about 2 to 3 minutes of light.
