Description: Mari Sandoz High Plains Heritage Center, on the campus of Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska; seen from the east. The building was formerly the college's library; the Classical Revival building was constructed in 1929, and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. In front of the building is a life-sized bronze statue of Mari Sandoz by George Lundeen; the sculpture stands in a small garden of native Nebraska Sandhills grasses and flowers. Attached to the building on the south is the Chicoine Atrium, built in 2002.
