Description: The Midtown Greenway is an old railroad corridor (ex-Milwaukee Road, I believe). It was sunk into a trench late in the 19th century, if memory serves, and bridges were built for most of the north-south streets. A handful of bridges have been removed with just embankments behind (there's one near I-35W) or are otherwise pointless (like the bridge that runs smack into the back of K-Mart along Nicollet Avenue). This photo was taken under the 17th Avenue bridge, looking west.
