Description: Бал в честь императора Александра II, организованный городом Гельсингфорсом в сентябре 1863 г. в здании железнодорожного вокзала. 1864 Внизу слева подпись и дата: Zichy 1864 Внизу на паспарту надпись (авторская?): Bal offert a Sa Majeste I’Empereur par la ville Helsingfors к Sept. 1863 (dans la gare de chemin du fer) Акварель, гуашь, белила, следы карандашного наброска. 450 х 610 Происхождение: пост, в 1927 из Библиотеки Зимнего дворца Инв. № ОР-27380 Выставки: 1977-1978 Budapest Литература: Алешина 1975, с. 199 Событие, зафиксированное Зичи, связано с политикой Александра II по отношению к Великому княжеству Финляндии, входившему в состав Российской империи. 3-5 сентября по инициативе императора в Гельсингфорсе был созван сейм (не собиравшийся с 1809 г.), где Александр II произнес многообещающую речь с предложением расширить права местного представительства, закрепив их в соответствующем законе, который предстояло выработать в ближайшие годы. Акварель исполнена по натурному карандашному наброску, как можно судить и по более поздней дате на рисунке, и по его плотной красочной фактуре. Александр II изображен в мундире лейб-гвардии Финского стрелкового батальона рядом с императрицей Марией Александровной и в окружении офицеров в той же форме. Справа финские депутаты.
