Description: Mirror for observatory on Mt. Wilson The 100-inch telescope glass being hauled up the one-way dirt toll road from Altadena to Mt. Wilson by truck in 1917. It was boxed in and draped with an American flag. A 200-inch mirror was put in place on April 10, 1936, giving astronomers the ability to see even further into space.
