Description: Looking southwest at the side of the statue "Music and Harvest", one of two statues that make up the work The Arts of Peace. The Arts of Peace are statues which adorn either side of the southern entrance of the Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway in Washington, D.C., in the United States. They were designed by sculptor James Earle Fraser, and erected in 1951. The mythological winged horse Pegasus is the centerpiece of the statue. On Pegasus' left is a young woman with a toga draped over her hips and holding a harp in her trailing arm, symbolic of music. Behind the woman is a turtle, symbolizing the belief that "art is long and time is fleeting".
