Description: The Fort Washington Branch of the New York Public Library, located at 535 West 179th Street between St. Nicholas and Audubon Avenues in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City was opened in 1914 and was built with funds provided by philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, the 26th and final Carnegie library constructed in Manhattan. It was designed by Babb, Cook & Welch, designers of 8 other Carnegie libraries.
