Description: Author and illustrator Norman Bridwell holds a copy of the first Clifford the Big Red Dog book he wrote nearly 50 years ago. In support of Scholastic's global literacy campaign, Bridwell joined 11 other children's illustrators at Scholastic's New York City headquarters for the launch of a month-long online charity auction of their original artwork to benefit literacy organizations, New York, Thursday, May 5, 2011.
