Description: Page from British Library MS Cotton Tiberius B.i, the Old English version of Orosius' Seven Books of History Against the Pagans, early 11th century. The Old English Orosius survives in only two copies, the other (British Library MS Additional 47967) dating from the late-9th or early-10th century. The text in the earlier copy includes the first recorded written mention of the term "Denmark" (dena mearc), possibly the first mention of the term "Norway" (norðweg), and the name of a southern Norwegian "port", Sciringes heal.
