Description: The "entrance" to the old Hyatt Ridge Trail manway in the gap between Mount Yonaguska and Mount Hardison along the Balsam Mountain Trail in the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. The old Hyatt Ridge Trail, no longer maintained and badly overgrown, descends Dashoga Ridge past Mt. Hardison and Marks Knob to the Raven Fork Valley. The trail is still popular with bushwhackers trying to reach Three Forks and peakbaggers trying to reach the summit of Marks Knob. The flowers in the foreground are Viburnum lantanoides, commonly called "witch hobble," or "hobblebush." Elevation appx. 5,900ft (1800m).
